A series of circumstances and events compel him to take stock of his life and take a hard look at himself. But summers vary rarely dull these days and Sid's summer is no different. As Aisha sets up her life in Bombay, with the help of Sid and his gang, Sid allows for time to fly by over long drives, parties that stretch well into dawn, and endless hours doing absolutely nothing. Despite their contrasting personalities, Sid becomes Aisha's first friend in the city. Ambitious, well-read, and driven, Aisha has come to Bombay to realize her dreams as a writer. Despite all these traits, Sid is an honest boy sweet, funny, and above all, a good friend.Īisha Bannerjee (Konkona Sen Sharma), an aspiring writer from Calcutta, learns this soon enough when her path crosses with Sid's on her first day in Bombay. Sid thrives around his two best friends, Rishi (Namit Das) and Laxmi (Shikha Talsania), very rarely communicates with his mother Sarita (Supriya Pathak) and takes his father Ram Mehra (Anupam Kher), and all his hard earned wealth for granted. The most important elements in his life are his friends, his camera, his car, and his X-box 360. Sid's world is breezy, carefree, and without any true responsibilities.
This is the story of Sidharth Mehra (Ranbir Kapoor), a lazy, unmotivated slacker from Mumbai whose life undergoes a series of changes after taking his final year college exams. Its refreshing to see SEL take a diversion from their usual route when it comes to movies from the Karan Johar household. This is the story of Sidharth Mehra (Ranbir Kapoor), a lazy, unmotivated slacker from Mumbai whose life undergoes a seri. WAKE UP SID SHANKAR MAHADEVAN MOVIE
For that matter Shankar Mahadevan always excels when it comes to soaring vocals!! Enter guest composer Amit Trivedi who pulls off a blinder with his sole composition for the movie called Iktara. He especially sounds resplendent on the higher notes. Aaj Hi Zindagi is another nicely arranged serene track, Shankar getting to mildly exercise his classical side on the vocals. The instrument in the interlude didnt sound like an actual harmonica by the way. Another pleasant track, though it does bear mild resemblances to Yeh Aaj Kya Ho Gaya from Luck By Chance. Next up is some country styled music with Kya Karoon, Clinton Cerejo absolutely magnificent on the vocals, in places reminding me of Raman Mahadevan. The music was given by Shankar Ehsaan Loy. This movie/album was directed by Ayan Mukerji. The remix version however went a bit too fast for my liking. The song Wake Up Sid (Club Mix) was sung by Shankar Mahadevan. And then on its a nice 3 odd minutes coming out in the ever-dependable Shankar Mahadevan’s voice. Wake Up Sid starts off frighteningly like the typical feel-good-but-now-getting-jaded SEL-KJo fare before it takes a Rock On-ish turn in the title line.
